How To Make Best Use of Your Coach
Almost all of us can benefit from hiring a coach, provided we are prepared to make changes. Even coaches hire coaches!
Here are some hints towards making the best use of your coaching/mentoring relationship... 1. Set challenging, meaningful and important goals & tasks that are achievable. 2. COMPLETE the tasks you have committed to on time. 3. Organize your thoughts and questions before each meeting or call. 4. Be prepared to deliver your new, mutually agreed commitments. 5. Understand that you are responsible for yourself and your level of achievement. 6. Be fully open and honest. Your coach is not your judge and will not judge you. Your coaching session will be better if your coach knows what you’re thinking. 7. If you don't like something, say so. If you share what is bothering you, your coach will probably be able to fix it. 8. Recognize that progress comes incrementally, and be prepared to work seriously on your priorities so that your goals can be achieved. 9. Be open-minded. Don’t let old thought patterns and habits hold you back. 10. Remember that a coach is not expert at everything. If you need a particular expert, your coach can help find one. 11. Understand that as your coach works with you, positive, permanent change and new habits take time to acquire. 12. Be open to success and welcome change in your business and life.
EXPECT AND REQUIRE CHANGE.
